Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Home Learning and our Remote Learning Plan

We want children to achieve as well as they can whilst attending our school.

Supporting your child's work in school by extending their learning at home is essential to helping your child progress.

Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
All of your child's learning comes from your child's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)  Targets. These are set at your child's annual review meeting. It is important that you attend this meeting so that we can all agree on your child's learning priorities for the year, and so that you can understand your child's targets and  what you can do to help your child's learning at home.
Class Dojo
When your child joins our school, we ask you to sign up to using the Class Dojo app.  This is an app that can be downloaded onto your phone, iPad, tablet or computer.  If you are unable to access this app, please let the office know.
In school, we use the app through the week to share with you your child's learning journey in school using photos and videos.  As a parent, you can send photos,  videos  and work from home into school using the app.  You can also send messages to the school staff.
Homework and Home Learning
We want learning at home to be meaningful.  Sometimes we will send 'homework' home for your child to do.  This will be practising what they have learnt in school, but in a different situation.
At other times,  we will ask for you to follow a programme of home learning.  This will be if your child is well but unable to attend school, or, at this time of Covid 19, if your child or your child's bubble has to self isolate.
During these times, we do not want your child to miss out on their education, so the bubble staff will work with  you to ensure that learning continues at home until a time when your child can be safely back in school.
What will home learning look like?
You will receive or be asked to collect a 'home learning pack' that will support you to continue your child's progress towards their EHCP targets.
Your bubble staff will organise online lessons or meetings.
We ask that you send evidence in of your child's learning at home through the Class Dojo app.

If you have any problems with your child's learning at home, such as your child won't do the work, they are distressed, or as a parent, you don't understand what is expected, please get in touch with your bubble staff who will be able to support you.
