Caring Me Week

'Caring Me' week is a week within our curriculum when we learn about how to use our 'Caring Hands' to care for ourselves and others.

This year, our ‘Caring Me’ week was fantastic!  We bathed babies, visited and helped at the local care home and played with our grandmas  and grandads at  grandparent’s afternoon.  We also gardened, recycled and picked litter and cleaned and washed the school.  Older classes helped younger classes and the whole school raised money for different charities by cooking, collecting baby items, and collecting food for food hampers for the Salvation Army.   We  groomed donkeys, learned about and petted dogs for the disabled, and looked after our class pets.

It was a fantastic week when our curriculum really came to life.  Parents who came to watch our Showcase Assembly loved what the children had been doing, with one parent saying that their child had said that 'It was their best ever week in school!'
