Head's Blog

4th October 2019
Hi Everyone

This week, our CEO David Horn came to talk to the staff about the Beckfoot Trust vision for the next year. It is great to be part of such a child-centred Trust. One of the things he talked about was the importance of giving children self belief and how nowadays, lots of children and young people find it hard to believe in themselves. I know that as a school, we work really hard at this and it is brilliant when we see how happy children are and how confident they are becoming.

So it's not surprising then, that some of our children want to do more in school and are asking for more responsibility! We want to recognise this by having lanyards made for them with something written on that explains that they are helping and doing jobs/working in school - eg. taking the register, helping in the office, helping children in other classes, putting out assembly chairs etc. We need to think of a title for them - so far we have thought of: Phoenix Helpers, Prefects, Monitors, and The Young/Junior Workforce. Can you think of any other titles, or which of these do you like? We can't wait to get this up and running - we just need a name!

A few reminders:
Next Tuesday at 9. 30 we have a parent's coffee morning with Jason.

Don't forget to come and watch your child in our 'Caring Me showcase assembly' on the Wednesday 23rd October at 1. 30 to see what they have been doing in 'Caring Me' week. Please let the office know if you are coming.

Unfortunately the school photo people have had to change their date, so photos are no longer on the 22nd October. We will let you know as soon as we have the new date.

Enjoy the weekend
Rachel
