Head's Blog

13th September 2019

We are already 2 weeks into the term and I cannot believe how quickly it has gone! We've come back from the Summer and it's been lovely to see that everyone has settled so quickly. Over the next week, we will be contacting new families through the dojo messaging service to get your thoughts on how you and your child has settled into Phoenix. It would be great to get your comments to add to our display in the parents room - keep checking your messages.

This week Green Base started their work experience! Each week half the base are donning their wellies and heading off to Windle Farm in Oxenhope where they are working with and caring for the animals. This week, they were developing their confidence with the animals and even walked the alpacas. They had a fab time! and so did the staff! I hope they enjoy it as much when it's raining - work experience is in all weathers!

One child in Green Base has made his own work experience in school this week and has decided that he is the head teacher! He has made his own badge, and so you might see him round school with a staff lanyard on telling you what he thinks! He has seen staff and told them they are getting a pay rise - some, 1 dollar, some £100 and some 10%! And then he said he was going home early because he's the head teacher and he doesn't really do anything!!! Either I make it look too easy, or he's right! All good fun!

Enjoy the sun this weekend - see you all on Monday
