Welcome to our website.  We hope you will see that in our very special School, the pupils come first!

Beckfoot Phoenix is all about the children!

  •  Keeping them safe.
  •  Valuing them and giving them a voice.
  •  Enabling them all to Enjoy, Learn, Succeed.
By working in partnership with families and professionals and by being accountable to the Beckfoot Trust, we are confident that Beckfoot Phoenix is a place where families feel supported, where children are accepted and where the progress made by pupils prepares them well for the next phase of their life.

Thank you for visiting our website.

For more information, please contact our school office and speak to Louise, Georgina, Ella or Jessica.

Beckfoot Phoenix was proud to take part in our first “One Britain One Nation” celebration.

Our day of celebrations included working with our friends who are co-located with us, at Merlin Top Primary School.

Both schools came together to demonstrate the values of One Britain One Nation.  The children and staff all celebrated the values we share: tolerance, kindness, pride, respect, and a tremendous desire to help others.

Year six children from Merlin Top stepped up and became young support leaders and were sent out to help the children in both schools.

Children from both schools worked together and joined in a number of bonding activities to devlelop the relationship between both schools.

Together, children took part in bun decorating to create a giant Union Jack flag, other activities were flag making, may pole dancing and parades around the school grounds which was led by the Samba band from Merlin Top.

This was truly a unique opportunity for both schools to work together and open our doors so we could become one.

Short Breaks Trip to
Hesketh Farm
Children and staff had a fantastic day visiting Hesketh Farm this holiday.  The children explored the farm looking at different animals and had great fun on the play equipment and playing in the giant sand pit.
World Book Day 2019
We had a wonderful World Book Day at Beckfoot Phoenix! Both children and staff loved dressing up as characters from their favourite books. In the afternoon the children enjoyed stories read to them by the White Rabbit (Jason), a crocodile (Rachel), an owl (Robert), Cruella DeVille (Ella) and one of the dalmations (Jessica). A big thank you to all the parents who sent their children dressed up, we appreciate the effort this takes.
The 'Friends of Phoenix Special School' (FOPSS) is on a mission and we need your help!
FOPSS is a group of parents and staff who try to raise money for the benefits of ALL the  children who use Beckfoot Phoenix Special School.  This includes the 100 children who attend the school each day as well as the many children with disabilities who come to the Stay and Play sessions through the holidays.
As you know, school funding is limited, and so over the years FOPSS has worked tirelessly to raise thousands of pounds.  Through our fundraising, we have bought the school a new wheelchair mini bus, sensory room, soft play room and sensory lighting in the swimming pool area.
Our next mission is HUGE and we need all the help we can get!
We have already made a good start and have raised over £14,000 but that is only a tip of the iceberg. We are estimating that we need £100,000 to provide the playgrounds that our very special children deserve.
As you can see we have quite a challenge, but I am sure with your help we will get there.
So .... we will be holding fundraising events whenever and wherever we can.
We have already introduced the "Dress Down Day" on the last day of each half term where children and staff can dress down/dress up for the day and pay at least a pound that will go to our outdoor play fund.
We are also setting up a '100 club', and still need to lots more members.  For each £12 a year a person pays, they will receive a number.  Every month a number will be drawn and the winner will receive a percentage of the money taken that month.  The rest of the money that month will go into the outdoor play fund.
So what else can you do to help?
You can join FOPSS - we are always looking for new members.  We meet each term, have a cuppa and talk about what we can do to help the school do even more things for our children. It's not difficult or  onerous - it's just about coming to the meetings and coming up with ideas.
We are sure that we have parents who work for large and small organisations, who could help!
Maybe you could talk to your work colleagues/bosses/companies about donating money, goods or having their own fundraising events in aid of us.
Or do you know anyone who could do sponsored events, such as walks/swims/runs or even marathons to raise money for us?  No matter how big or small any support you could give us would be great!
If you can help, please get in touch with Jason at school.
Remember every penny we raise will benefit your children, the children and families who use our school, and the children of the future.
Please share this with your friends and family - the more people who can help the more we can raise.
Thank You!
