Head's Blog

27th September 2019
Hi Everyone

Hope you have all got your wellies out and are enjoying this September weather! Homework for this weekend - splashing in puddles!

It was lovely to see so many of you in school this week. First it was the Friends of Phoenix meeting, then the parents afternoons, and to top it off, we had the parent's coffee morning when I explained our curriculum.

Thank you to all of you who came into school for one or all of these - we really do appreciate your support.

In assembly this week, it was recycling week. We had a great time throwing rubbish round the hall, and then picking it up with litter pickers! I told the children that recycling was MAGIC because it turned old used things into new things! They loved being tapped by my magic wand so that they could be magic too! If you do or can start recycling at home, it would be fantastic if your child could join in with you - and be magic at home too! If you have any magic 'recyclers', send your pictures in for us to see in school.

Just to give you advance notice - we have a very exciting 'Caring Me' week coming up in school starting on the 14th October. During that week, we will be visiting old people's homes, going to the church/mosque, bathing babies, adopting a pet for a week, having a grandma and grandad's afternoon and lots more. We would love to show you what we have been up to in our 'Caring Me Showcase Assembly' for parents/families on Wednesday 23rd October at 1. 30. Please let Jason or the office know how many seats you will be needing and we look forward to seeing you then!

A couple of other dates for your diary

Tuesday 22nd October in the morning - school photos. Please ensure children wear their uniform on this day. If you would to have photos of your child with other family members, please contact the office.

Thursday 24th October - the last day for pupils before the half term holiday (training day for staff on the Friday).

Have a great weekend.
Rachel :)
