Our school uniform

School uniform is an important way of developing a sense of belonging within school, and our students frequently tell us that they are proud to wear their Beckfoot Phoenix uniform.
We love seeing our students looking smart in their school uniform, and want them to wear it everyday, however, we also want our students to fell comfortable at school so that they can focus on their learning and not worry about getting their uniform dirty.
What to wear:
- Navy top, jumper, cardigan, hoodie or fleece
- White polo shirt
- Black/grey trousers or shorts – school trousers, tracksuit bottoms, or jogging bottoms
- Black/grey skirt or shorts
- Blue checked school dress
- Shoes, boots or trainers
Where can I buy uniform?
Our navy uniform can be purchased from MyClothing online, as well as from Whittakers Schoolwear in Keighley. If families prefer, they can buy uniform without the emblem or logo from other outlets like your local supermarket.
Uniform Voucher Policy – School Uniforms
The Beckfoot Trust will provide Financial Support to families of students on free school meals now or that have been on free school meals at any time within the last six years. The eligibility will be based on the students identified on the Government’s Ever6 database.
Uniform vouchers will be valued at £26 and will be redeemable at Whittakers Schoolwear in Keighley. Vouchers will not be valid in any other outlets.
In special circumstances, uniform voucher support may be provided to other parents/carers where exceptional need can be explained (e.g. families moving into the area for the first time from abroad).
Second-hand uniform
Pre-loved uniform is available from the school office.
School meals
Lunch at Beckfoot Phoenix is served between 11:30am and 1:00pm, with each class enjoying a 30-minute lunch break during this time.
Pupils can either bring packed lunches or have a hot meal from our excellent catering service, who provide students with healthy and nutritious meals that are prepared on site. To enquire about school meals, please contact the school office.
Pupils eat their lunch together every day whether they have a hot meal provided by the school, or a packed lunch.
Please note that we are a nut free school and do not allow children to bring any nut based products into school or in their packed lunch.

Admissions
The planned admissions number (PAN) for the admission in the school year commencing September 2027 will be a maximum of 110 plus five nursery places. In term admissions are at the request of the LA.
We are unable accept direct requests for placement from parents or carers or other local authorities. If you wish to have a place at Hazelbeck for your child you need to contact the Local Authority Special Education Needs Department. (Information can be found by clicking the link https://bso.bradford.gov.uk/content/admissions
It is expected that all pupils placed at Hazelbeck School will have a ‘cognition and learning need’. That is that they will function cognitively below the levels of their mainstream peers and be learning at a slower pace. They may also have additional sensory, physical, medical or social and emotional and mental health needs or they may be autistic.

Home to school transport
For children who qualify, transport may be arranged by the Local Authority from your home to school. The Local Authority will often allocate specialist travel services to students with Special Educational Needs, this can include minibuses, taxis or a walking escort.
Please contact the Local Authority directly on 01274 439450 or [email protected] with any of your questions or concerns regarding school transport, or visit their website for more information.
Stay and Play Holiday Provision
Stay and Play is a relaxed holiday scheme where families bring their disabled children and siblings to take part in planned activities, make new friends and connect with other families. This provision is open to:
- Families of Beckfoot Phoenix pupils
- Other families who have disabled children
Each session offers a wide range of activities, which may include: singing and music, cooking, swimming, soft play and bouncy castles, animal visits, massage and sensory activities, rebound therapy and outdoor play.
Stay and play sessions are much more relaxed than a school day and fully recognise that this time is still part of your child’s school holidays. Families can enjo9y the day at their own pace in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Most children attend with their families, giving parents and carers the chance to: meet others in similar situations, build supportive networks, and spend quality time together while their children play and bond with others. Parents have described this provision as a ‘lifeline’ during the holidays, offering a safe and supportive space where families feel safe and included.
To find out more, please email: [email protected]
Stay and Play is delivered as part of Bradford Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, funded by the Department for Education.
