Nurture Hub
The nurture hub is our universal plus offer. The nurture hub is a safe, calm, inviting space to support children to develop mutual respect, their relationships, social skills and emotional intelligence. The nurture hub will encourage and support each child to develop their confidence and understanding. The nurture hub is a place to be used proactively before a child becomes too dysregulated to engage with supportive strategies.

The Nurture Hub offers:
- Modelling of good practice
- Interventions – Circle time (development of social skills/understanding of emotions within a safe space)
- Interventions – Sunflower Group (attachment led activities – puppet work, developing understanding of children through activities they enjoy)
- Sensory circuit room
- A zen den – a quiet and calming space for students
- Quiet learning space
- Enterprise initiative
- Through emailed requests, the hub team will provide observations, feedback and support at agreed times

The Nurture hub is staffed by the Behaviour and Attachment Specialist and an experienced HLTA. The intention is the hub will be staff by one member of the team at all times allowing the second member to lead interventions and support as needed within classes.
Interventions will be timetabled as pupils are identified for interventions through a referral system which the Behaviour and Attachment Specialist will review with members of SLT.
For children who have been directed by their class teacher to spend time in the hub with a supporting adult, the hub staff will provide guidance based on the information provided. There will be an opportunity to engage in a restorative conversation (where appropriate) when the child is ready, this may take place in the hub and/or with the staff in the child’s class.
