Hydrotherapy Pool

Hydrotherapy offers a fun and effective way for children to improve their oral motor skills and respiratory control. By blowing bubbles or gently blowing a lightweight object across the water, children can engage their breath control in a natural, engaging way. It can also improve muscle strength the use of a water noodle. This can help build up the muscles in the arms and core without it being obvious to the child.

Children with disabilities have been known to become more communicative and cooperative after sessions in the water, supporting to reduce overall anxiety and stress, improving their concentration and confidence in all areas of schooling and everyday life.

The Swing Room

The Swing Room offers a space where children can engage with vestibular feedback, which is essential for their regulation. The calming motion of swinging back and forth can help children to relax and find comfort. The predictable movement supports the vestibular system, helping with balance and spatial awareness. For children who may feel anxious or overwhelmed, the swing provides them with a sense of control and stability, making it a soothing and enjoyable experience.

Outdoor play

The outdoor play areas provide the children with the freedom to explore the great outdoors all within the safe boundaries of the school playground. Each class has its own designated play area, carefully designed to meet the unique needs of the students.

Outdoor play gives children the chance to interact with their peers, explore their personal interests, and enjoy the environment around them. It encourages both physical activity and social development, offering valuable opportunities for fun and growth.

Rebound Therapy

Rebound Therapy is a form of physiotherapy that uses a trampoline to promote physical activity and social interaction. The benefits of rebound therapy include increased verbal communication, improved eye contact and is a positive physical engagement. 

Rebound therapy can be particular helpful in managing challenging behaviours, while also providing support for children with balance issues, limited mobility, and posture difficulties. Through rebound therapy, children can build confidence, improve coordination, and experience a fun, interactive way to enhance their physical and social skills.

Soft Play

Soft play is an exciting, interactive environment where children can safely explore and release their energy in a variety of ways. The vibrant, cushioned space encourages them to climb, jump and navigate through different obstacles, promoting physical development and coordination. Whether they’re diving into a ball pit, sliding down a soft ramp, or playing games like hide and seek, every corner offers a new opportunity for adventure and fun.

After a session in soft play, children leave refreshed, calm, and ready to focus on learning, making it an idea activity to enhance both physical and cognitive growth.

The Sensory POD

At Beckfoot Phoenix, we are dedicated in providing sensory strategies that help children regulate their emotions, enabling them to stay engaged in their learning environments. By offering appropriate support, we aim to ensure that every child has the best opportunity to thrive in the classroom. 

The Sensory POD provides a quiet, calming space for students to retreat to when they need to manage sensory overload. It serves as a safe haven where children can take a moment to pause and recharge.
