Good Afternoon,

Green base had their cake sale this week to raise money for the Prom. They made a whopping £203.29. The cakes were amazing and all tasted delicious. Thank you to all the team and children for their persuasive selling techniques.

You will have discovered that the children have brought their school reports home. These can be discussed at your parents and carers afternoon. You should have received the details from the class teacher about this.

There are further teacher strikes next week happening throughout the country. If this affects your child, you will have received a call from the office to inform you.

Sadly I am letting you know that Jenny Tate, our Purple base lead will be leaving us at the end of the term. She has secured a job at the prestigious special school Swiss Cottage in London. We are very sad to see Jenny go but we wish her lots of luck on her new venture. I think we should take a school trip to go and visit her in the Autumn term!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone,

Sarah :)

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Another very busy week has finished and we have had a challenge day in school with external visitors. They loved what they saw happening within the classrooms and especially loved the interactions they had with our wonderful children!

We have also had our LSC meeting today, this stands for Local School Committee. If you are interested and would like to join this, please let me know. There was a distinct lack of biscuits today but I promise to buy some for the next meeting!

Our class lists for next year are nearly ready so you will be finding out in the next few weeks which class your child will be in from September.
The reports are nearly ready to come home too. I have had a lovely time reading them all and writing a little message for your child.

For this years Year 5 children, you should have received a letter home regarding secondary school places for September 24. There was a typo on the letter from the Local Authority. It should read September 24 not 23. If you have not received this and are unsure, please get in touch with me and I can share the letter with you.

Have a great weekend,

Sarah :)

Good Afternoon,

What a very hot Active ME week in school.
The children have taken part in a range of different activities and have done amazingly week, particularly in the heat.
It was great to see the children working together with their friends from the different bases. We have been having regular drinks and breaks to help with the fatigue from the heat.

As part of Active Me week we have been tracking the steps that the children and adults have taken. They have walked the whole of Yorkshire and another half way around! That's a lot of steps!

There has been lots of water play throughout school and there were many people soaking wet at the end of the day. I was disappointed I couldn't join in but we were too busy partying with the Star's of the week!

Just a reminder that the Summer Fayre will be held in school on Wednesday 5th July.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sarah :)

Good Afternoon Everyone,

It is with delight that I am letting you know that after a rigorous process Gemma has accepted the job as Deputy Head of our school.
I am so pleased that we can move forward as a school to continue to develop the curriculum to ensure all our pupils are learning lots, being brilliant and making memories.
I am sure you will join me in congratulating her on her new post.
Well Done Gemma 🙂

Good Afternoon,

We have had a great first week back for the last half term of the school year.

The teachers are working hard to complete the report to parents that will be handed out on the 23rd June.

During our Wednesday morning activities, the children were learning about dinosaurs. Some children made masks, others created amazing stained glass pictures which were highly effective.
In assembly were learnt about dinosaurs and how many teeth they have, Isaac was amazed that they had 60 teeth!

Next week we are holding our Active Me week. There will be a range of activities throughout the week for the children to access. We are really hoping that all the children enjoy the week ahead.

The children have had sun safety lessons this week, I think it was very good timing for the forecast at the weekend!

Have a good weekend.

Sarah :)
